“Concealment is always a near and dear concern to me When I’m on the streets, I generally feel fairly conspicuous all the time. Maybe it’s just my high cheekbones, but I have to admit that most of the time I do have funny bulges here and there about my person — most of them firepower. I have often carried the MAC-lO under my arm in a DiSantis rig, which allows firing without removing the gun from the leather. Either the MAC-10 or its remarkably smaller brother, the MAC-11, can lay down a wall of lead when you need one. But a shoulder rig over a contoured vest, with at least a jacket, sometimes an overcoat — you can lose three pounds just walking around.
I like to carry my MAC-10 in a .45 (although it can be configured for 9mm, the MAC-11 is in .380 only) in a slightly-emptied radio. I say slightly because it still plays. I used a hot knife from a styrene- model hobby shop to cut away what got in the way. Plus a hot melt glue gun to install restraints for the gun. Of course, I cut holes for my finger to reach the trigger and the bullets to exit the housing. So now, I can enjoy my easy listening sounds or a slightly madder music. ”
