Marvel’s Office Christmas Party. Okay, so it’s January already—we all trimmed our trees or Chanukah Bushes—this was before Kwanza was a thing – we got presents—oh, the festivity! Just look at how the Friars Club festooned their staircase with giant ribbons. Actually, that was so very drunk comedians had a last chance at slowing their fall over the side.
I present below two exposures of the same group. No matter how many times I said, “Hold still!”—most people just couldn’t. Except Jim, he was a trooper. I figure between the two pix of the same people, you can see them clearly once.
And so that I don’t have to try to describe who’s in front of who…
This is better than one long paragraph, let me tell you. To be fair, one does have to read all the previous installments to know who some of these people are. I think the last mysterious person is Nancy Itkowitz who at this point in time was associated with Big Jim Novak. I think “Lynn” should be spelled Lynne—but if you knew how much trouble it is making one of these things, you’ll accept the correction this way.
Time has rolled by—real close to 40 years. Only with the film as a “timeline” can I tell that all my office buddies were hollering at me to take their pictures too. Well, first things first:
Danny Fingeroth! Christmas cheer personified! Danny, a good office chum even after only a couple of months of me being on staff is usually more reserved and circumspect. (Kids, don’t drink!)
Y’know, sometimes I feel I cannot help myself. I’ve got to present a diagram.
Here’s the second round-up of the gang! This time, I warned them with dire consequences if they moved.
Perhaps the threat worked or I paused to examine my camera settings more closely. But you’ll still need this:
Finally, a really nice memory of two the nicest people in Marveldom. Danny Crespi, our very own Bullpen Manager and Cindy Cavanaugh, Executive Secretary and all round good sport!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
Hey Eliot, how long was Posh Stairs employed at Marvel?
A little less time than Art Folio–
