“Crossbows always offered the best ideas from bowhunting and riflery — the stock-mounted firing mechanism and comfort plus the power and silence of a bow. Then along comes compound bows which use physics and pulleys to extend the range of an ordinary ‘pull` so that the felt pull yields 3 or 4 times the energy that an arrow usually experiences. Or, 150 pound pulls were not uncommon; average old-style bows: 35 pounds. Finally. bang all these together to form a compound crossbow. add in hitech materials and you are almost at an ultimate of weight versus arrow-flight efficiency.
Barnett International, out of Odessa, Florida. has crafted numerous. outstanding compound crossbows over the years. but l think they‘ve hit a high-water mark with their Demon.
The power and accuracy of this thing is close to that of an average rifle. The telescopic sight is there to hit things you can barely see. And it does.”
